Actress who appeared in Broadway productions of Annie, Les Miserables, and Cats. For her role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, she earned a 1982 Tony nomination.
She briefly attended New York University and subsequently made her Broadway debut in Annie.
A theater on 42nd Street in New York City was named in her honor.
She died of cancer at the age of forty-four, just six years after marrying Neil Mazzella.
She performed at Bill Clinton 's second Presidential Inaugural Gala.
