ABOUT LEAH THOMAS

Intersectional environmental activist and author of the book The Intersectional Environmentalist: How to Dismantle Systems of Oppression to Protect People and Planet. She is also an Instagram star known for posting activism content and updates on the organization she founded, Intersectional Environmentalist. Her greengirlleah Instagram has over 260,000 followers.

She graduated from Chapman University in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in environmental science and policy with a cluster in comparative world religions.

She posts more updates about intersectional environmental activism on her Leahtommi Twitter where she has over 20,000 followers. In April 2022, she started a podcast called The Joy Report which focuses on positive news, climate news, and the intersectional work being done to protect the people and planet.

In a video with Buzzfeed, she describes how she and her sister protested and were tear-gassed by police. She is based out of Southern California.
