Known by her stage name Leila K, she is a chart-topping Eurodance and pop singer from Sweden who has also performed as a rapper.
She signed her first recording contract in 1988 after being discovered during a singing competition.
Her hit singles include "Open Sesame," "Time," and "Got to Get."
She was born Laila El Khalifi to a Moroccan family living in Sweden.
She is a contemporary of fellow Swedish singer, Jill Johnson .
