She grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from Dillard University.

She married R&B singer Robert Lavelle Huggar, also known as R.L. They had a daughter Rory in 2017. In April 2025, they announced they were expecting second child together.
