ABOUT LENORE KANDEL
Beat Generation poet best known for The Love Book, a controversial poetry chapbook. In 1967, she published a full-length poetry collection entitled World Alchemy.
She grew up in New York City and later moved to San Francisco, where she made the acquaintance of legendary author Jack Kerouac .
She had a cameo role in Invocation of My Demon Brother, a 1969 Kenneth Anger film.
She was married to poet Billy Fritsch. She died of lung cancer in her seventies.
She was the inspiration for the character of Dave's girlfriend in Big Sur, a famous novel by Jack Kerouac .
