ABOUT LINDA GRAY SEXTON

The daughter of the Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Anne Sexton , she published several acclaimed works, including Searching for Mercy Street: My Journey Back to My Mother, Anne Sexton (1994 memoir) and Rituals (1983, fiction).

She studied literature at Harvard University. She published her first non-fiction work, Between Two Worlds: Young Women in Crisis, in 1979.

Her novel, Points of Light, was translated into thirteen languages and adapted into a CBS television special.

She grew up in Newton, Massachusetts as one of two daughters born to Alfred Muller Sexton and poet Anne Sexton. Linda Sexton later settled in California with her husband.

Literary critic Erica Jong praised Sexton's 2011 memoir, Half in Love: Surviving the Legacy of Suicide.
