Slide guitarist and lead singer of 1970s rock band Little Feat who also produced the Grateful Dead album Shakedown Street.
He started playing music early on in his life and his first instrument was the harmonica.
In 1979, he released his solo album Thanks, I'll Eat It Here.
His wife's name is Elizabeth and he has four children with her.
He has occasionally collaborated with Peter Tork .
