Multiple Grammy Award-winning country singer who met his first wife on the set of The Player. His song "Cowboy Man" was charted at #10. His song "If I Had A Boat" has accumulated more than 22 million streams on Spotify.

He studied German and journalism at Texas A&M University. After graduating from college, he signed with MCA Records.

Many of his albums have been Gold-certified, including Lyle Lovett and His Large Band. He has released over 10 albums throughout his long career.

He married actress Julia Roberts on June 25, 1993, and they divorced on March 22, 1995.

He sang "You've Got A Friend In Me" for the film Toy Story with Randy Newman .
