American actress known for playing the role of Charlene Darling on the television show The Andy Griffith Show. She acted in the TV series for 5 years. She appeared in over 20 episodes of television throughout her long career.
She formed a singing group with her brother and his friends as a child called Ja-Da Quartet, with whom she would sing to people on the back of pickup trucks.
She received a star on the Missouri Walk of Fame in April 2008. She died at the age of 81, shortly after her husband's passing.
She was born to Arthur Peterson, a doctor, and Tressa Hill Peterson, a homemaker.
She was known for her role on The Andy Griffith Show.
