Indian actress who won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for her debut role in the 1997 film Pardes.

She was the winner of a beauty pageant in Darjeeling before moving to Delhi to attend college.

She also worked early in her career as a VJ for music channels in India.

She married Bobby Mukherjee in 2006 and has a daughter named Aryana.

She has worked with fellow Indian actress Tabu .
