ABOUT MALUSI GIGABA

In 2014, this African National Congress Party politician was appointed South African Minister of Home Affairs. While serving in the National Assembly (Parliament) of South Africa, he also held office as Minister of Public Enterprise.

He earned degrees in social policy and education from the University of Durban-Westville. During his early adulthood years, he served three terms as President of the African National Congress Youth League.

He earned praise from human rights organizations when he supported legislation that facilitated legal immigration to South Africa from Zimbabwe.

Born in Eshowe, KwaZulu-Natal, to Nomthandazo Gigaba and the Reverend Jabulani Gigaba, he grew up with four siblings.

He served as Minister of Home Affairs under the presidential administration of Jacob Zuma .
