Midfielder that signed with Italian Serie A football club Sassuolo in 2019. He played internationally as a member of Italy's national team during the UEFA Euro Championship in 2020.

He began his professional soccer career as a child on Atalanta's youth team.

He scored his first career Serie A goal in October 2016, as a member of AC Milan 's senior team during a 4-3 win over Sassuolo.

He is a native of Lecco, Italy. He is married to Thessa Lacovich. They have a son, Theo. They are expecting their second child together.

He played alongside Lorenzo Insigne as a member of Italy's national team during UEFA Euro 2020.
