He began to earn a following online in early 2016.

He created a channel called Memoirs of Marc a few months before creating his more popular MarcElvin channel.

He is Filipino-American. In April 2020, he posted a YouTube video in which he introduced his boyfriend Jason.

He met one of his favorite YouTubers, Tiffany Ma , at Vidcon in 2016.
