ABOUT MARIAN ILITCH

Most famous for co-founding the Little Caesars pizza chain alongside her husband Mike Ilitch , she also became co-owner of Ilitch Holdings, Inc., the company that owns the MLB's Detroit Tigers and the NHL's Detroit Red Wings.

The first Little Caesars pizza restaurant opened in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan, in the spring of 1959.

Working Women Magazine once named her the top female C.E.O. in the United States.

She and Mike, were both born to Macedonian parents. Their marriage resulted in seven children: Christopher, Denise, Ron, Michael, Lisa, Carole, and Atanas.

She and Domino's founder Tom Monaghan both established major American pizza chains.
