Defensive end for the New York Jets from 1979 to 1988. He was one of the most feared pass rushers of his era.

He had an early interest in rodeo and began entering roping events at age 12.

He was ranked #8 on the NFL Network's list of the Top 10 Pass Rushers in 2007.

His daughter is model Brittny Gastineau .

He had a highly-publicized romance with model/actress Brigitte Nielson .
