She has gained over 210,000 followers to her shoppurplepear Instagram account where she shares her art and her experiences with having autism. In an April 2024 Instagram reel with over 66.8 million views, she responded to a viral video in which one of her classmates filmed her knitting in class.

She began knitting when she was admitted to the hospital to be treated for an eating disorder. Since her recovery, she has opened up her own shop, Purple Pear, where she sells her knitted toys and handmade jewelry.

She has used her platform to advocate for reproductive and trans rights. She has attended The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
