Self-Help Author and ex-wife of Joey Buttafuoco who was shot in the face by her husband's mistress Amy Fisher in 1992. She published Getting It Through My Thick Skull: Why I Stayed, What I Learned, and What Millions of People Involved with Sociopaths Need to Know in 1999.
She says that Fisher didn't threaten her or reveal the gun until she was shot. She had no idea what was going on when it happened.
She appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2004 to discuss the attempt at her life and her facial reconstructive surgery.
Her children are Jessica and Paul Buttafuoco.
She and Amber Frey are both writers who's lives were turned upside down by a crime.
