ABOUT MARY JO SALTER
Michigan-born poet, professor, and co-editor of The Norton Anthology of Poetry. Her poetry collections include Unfinished Painting, A Kiss in Space, and Open Shutters.
She attended Harvard University and Cambridge University. She published her debut poetry collection, Henry Purcell in Japan, in 1985.
She served as editor of The Atlantic Monthly and The New Republic.
She raised two daughters: Emily and Hilary Leithauser.
She attended Harvard classes taught by famed poet Elizabeth Bishop .
