She grew up in Little Ferry, New Jersey with her parents, Bartolo "Buddy" Sr. and Mary Valastro and her brothers and sisters.

She was fired in the fifth season of Cake Boss due to making inappropriate statements but was rehired a few weeks later.

She married and has two children named Lucia and Joseph.

She has appeared alongside chef Mauro Castano on Cake Boss.
