ABOUT MATILDA SHNUROVA
Russian restaurateur known for pioneering a slow food trend in cuisine. Her restaurants included CoCoCo in St. Petersburg. Together with her then-husband, rock star Sergey Shnurov, she was known as one-half of Russia's Brangelina. They divorced in 2018.
She had a childhood love for cooking. She moved to Moscow at age 16.
She is a former dancer and served as a patron of Russian ballet. She studied biochemistry at Technological University, St. Petersburg.
Her mother and grandmother inspired her love of cooking with fresh fruit and vegetables.
She had a restaurant on the top floor of the W St. Petersburg, where chef Alain Ducasse previously worked.
