ABOUT MATTHEW DAVIES

Australian back who is widely known for his career in Australia's A-League and Malaysia's Liga Super. In August 2015, he was signed to the Malaysian Super League team Pahang FA, and was named team captain the following year.

He began his youth soccer career in 2010. He first joined the Australia Institute of Sport soccer program.

He joined Malaysia's senior national team in 2015. He had previously played for Australia's under-19 national squad in 2013.

His mother is of Malaysian descent, while his father hails from Adelaide, Australia.

He played in the Perth Glory's youth academy alongside Scott Neville .
