Mattos Nascimento
ABOUT MATTOS NASCIMENTO
Singer, composer, trombonist, and the first of the Nascimento to move in to gospel music. He used to perform with the rock band Paralamas, but has dedicated himself to solo gospel music since becoming an evangelist in 1989. He is signed with the label Eternal Praise.
He was raised religious, and was in the church choir his whole childhood.
He has his own music label, Mattos Nascimento Discos.
He has thirteen bothers and one sister, Rose, who is also a gospel singer. His nephews John, Max and Lucas form the gospel trio Nascimento Jr.
He has performed live alongside world music singer Carla Perez .
