Argentine midfielder who was named MLS Newcomer of the Year in 2011 as a member of the Seattle Sounders FC. He joined Chivas USA in 2014.

He began his professional career with Argentina's Newell's Old Boys in 1999.

He won a gold medal with the Argentine national team at the 2004 Summer Olympics.

He had a son named Rodrigo with his wife Emilia.

He was joined by Clint Dempsey on the Seattle Sounders FC in 2013.
