ABOUT MELANIE AMARO

Recording artists who won the first season of The X Factor and signed a five million dollar music contract soon after.

She attended and graduated from Plantation High School. She auditioned for The X Factor in 2011.

She released three hit singles off her debut album Truly: "Don't Fail Me Now," "Love Me Now," and "Long Distance."

She was raised in Tortola, British Virgin Islands with two brothers named Mark and Mike and a younger sister named Maya.

Simon Cowell was one of the judges on The X Factor when Amaro won.
