A member of the Bethel collective, she is a singer who rose to fame with her husband Jonathan as part of their Christian musical duo Jonathan David & Melissa Helser.

Jonathan David & Melissa Helser debuted in 2014 with their first album, Endless Ocean, Bottomless Sea.

Along with Jonathan, she leads an artistic collective called Cageless Birds.

She and Jonathan settled in Sophia, North Carolina with their two children, Cadence and Haven.

In 2016, several other members of Bethel Music joined together with them to work on a live album with Francesca Battistelli set for release in 2017.
