ABOUT MELISSA ORTIZ

Former professional soccer player, host, and lifestyle influencer who competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics. She retired from soccer in 2017. She has been in campaigns for Nike, BMW, Pepsi, La Liga, HBO, Carnival Cruise, Chivas Regal, Macy's, Cricket Wireless, and Gatorade. She has earned more than 160,000 followers on her melissaortiz5 Instagram account.

She attended Lynn University in Florida. During her freshman year of college, she made the team pool for the Colombian Women's National team.

She played professionally in the Icelandic, American, and Colombian leagues. She suffered major injuries including an Achilles tear just four days before the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup. She was an in-stadium host for the New York Red Bulls , a sideline reporter for Warner Bros. Discovery Sports, and a studio analyst for Apple TV+.

Her parents are Colombian. They migrated to New York City.
