Striker who became the first player of Indian descent to enter the Premier League when he began his professional career with Newcastle United in 2000.

He made 10 appearances for the English U16 team from 1997 to 1999.

He set a Premier League record for fastest score by a substitute in 2006, knocking in a goal after just 15 seconds on the pitch.

He was briefly married to Heather Swan in 2008.

He and Joey Barton both played for Newcastle United.
