Founder of the website TrueCrimeDiary and noted true-crime author who was the wife of comedian and actor Patton Oswalt .
She attended the University of Minnesota where she earned a Master's degree in Creative Writing. She did her undergrad studies at the University of Notre Dame.
She was an interviewee for the TV series documentary A Crime to Remember.
She is survived by her husband Patton Oswalt and their daughter Alice. She passed away in their Los Angeles home.
She received a special thanks credit for the film Big Fan, starring her husband and Kevin Corrigan .
