Notable for her appearances in the Philippine youth sketch comedy series Goin Bulilit, Cruz is also known for her work in Maalaala Mo Kaya and Mirabella and in the Star Cinema film T2. Her acting fame has led her to amass over 2.4 million Instagram followers.

Born Born Mariko Nicolette Egger de la Cruz, she entered the entertainment industry as a contestant on the 2006 season of Star Circle Summer Kid Quest.

She received a 2010 PMPC Star Award for Best Child Film Actress. She has appeared in more than 200 episodes of television throughout her developing career.

Born to Ernie de la Cruz and an Austrian mother named Angelika Egger, she was raised with two brothers and one sister; tragically, her brother Edward died in a 2010 automobile accident.

Her sister, Angelika de la Cruz , also had a successful acting career.
