Milan Bandić

ABOUT MILAN BANDIć

Long-time politician and former mayor of Zagreb, Croatia. He successfully created several transportation projects, such as the Homeland bridge, parking garages, bike paths in the city and better traffic light mechanisms.

He began his political career in 1983, working in the Peščenica District of Croatia.

He was the leader of the Zagreb branch of the Social Democratic Party of Croatia. He was elected mayor of Zagreb twice.

He was married to Vesna Bandić until their divorce in 1996. He had one daughter. He also had two pet dogs.

He lost to Zoran Milanović in the 2007 election for President of the Social Democratic Party of Croatia.
