She was part of the Winnipeg Rusalka Ukrainian dance group for 12 years and studied jazz at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School.
She made her film debut in 1984 in the film He's Hired, She's Fired.
She married carpenter Manolin Kourtikakis in 1996, and the couple has one daughter named Kaliopi.
She appeared in the popular early 1990s television series, Doogie Howser M.D., starring Neil Patrick Harris .
