Born Jisaidie Hicks, he is a rap artist out of New Orleans, Louisiana with a 2000 debut album titled Brick Livin' which peaked at no. 127 on the Billboard 200.

He released a song called "Hey P-Popper" in 1992 which was relatively popular at the time.

His stage name is taken after mobster Carlos Marcello.

His younger brother is rapper Currensy .

Master P was featured on his 1999 single "How U Like It."
