ABOUT NADIR AFONSO
Abstract painter who was formally trained as an architect and specialized in geometric shapes. One of the pioneers of Kinetic art. Famous for his "Cities" series.
He won a national prize for painting at age 17; shortly thereafter, he enrolled in the School of Fine Arts in Porto.
He published several books detailing his theory of geometry-based aesthetics.
He grew up in Portugal and was the son of poet Artur Maria Afonso.
He admired the work of Salvador Dali .
