Narinder Dhami
ABOUT NARINDER DHAMI
A British children's and young adult author, she is best known for Bend It Like Beckham (2002). Her other critically-acclaimed teen novel, Bang, Bang You're Dead!, was published in 2009.
She studied English at Birmingham University. After graduating in 1980, she taught elementary and high school for over a decade and, on the side, published stories in teen magazines.
Her more than two hundred books include The Beautiful Game series and the Babes books.
She grew up in Wolverhampton, England. Her father was an Indian immigrant and her mother was British.
She wrote the novelization of the film, Bend It Like Beckham. The 2002 film starred actress Keira Knightley .
