ABOUT NATASHA FRIEND

The author of the acclaimed young adult novels Perfect (2004), Lush (2006), and Bounce (2008), she is also notable for her literary contributions to Chicken Soup for the Volunteer's Soul and Family Fun magazine.

She started writing when she was nine years old and went on to complete an undergraduate degree in psychology at Bates College (in Maine) and a graduate degree in English at Clemson University (in South Carolina).

A teacher as well as a writer, she held faculty positions at Massachusetts' Ecole Bilingue-International and New York's Brearley School.

A native of Norwich, New York, she is the daughter of an actress and writer mother and an English teacher father.

She and fellow children's author Bill Wallace are both recipients of the Golden Sower Award.
