ABOUT NICOLE BLACKMAN

Poet and performance artist who released an album of spoken-word poetry entitled Stay Away from Lonely Places. Also a voiceover artist, she voiced advertising campaigns for Verizon, Blockbuster, and Chrysler.

She released her first spoken-word album, Revival: Spoken Word from Lollapalooza 94, in 1994.

She was a frequent guest on "Man in the Moon," a radio program hosted by Liza Richardson.

She was born and raised in New York City.

On several occasions, her spoken-word performances served as an opening act for singer Nick Cave .
