Nikola Vaptsarov
ABOUT NIKOLA VAPTSAROV
Bulgarian poet whose influential career was cut short by his underground Communist activities. He is known for one published poetry collection: Motorni Pesni (Motoring Verses).
He attended the Naval Machinery School in Varna and worked in a factory in Kocherinovo.
He became the leader of the Central Military Committee of the Bulgarian Communist Party and was arrested in 1942.
He was born in Bankso, Bulgaria. He was a posthumous recipient of the International Peace Award.
He and Hristo Botev were fellow poets and political revolutionaries.
