ABOUT NIKOLAI BATURIN
Twentieth-century Estonian novelist and playwright who also published poems and screenplays. His notable works include The Centaur, The Flight of the Stork, and the screenplay of The Heart of the Bear.
He published his first work, a poetry collection called Underground Lakes, in 1968.
He illustrated several of his books.
He was born and raised in the village of Arumetsa, Estonia, where his father was a fisherman.
He was born in the same country as fellow writer Mihkel Mutt .
