ABOUT NORMAN GEORGE HUNTER
An English children's book author, he is best known for his popular Professor Branestawm books, which focus on the adventures of a kooky inventor.
His Professor Branestawm books were written over the course of half a century, with a 33-year gap between books two and three.
Children's books weren't the only genre in which he wrote; he also published advertisement copy and brain-teasers. For a while, he even performed as a stage magician.
He was born in Sydenham, England.
Darren Shan , an author nearly seventy years Hunter's junior, also became known for his works of children's literature.
