ABOUT OBBIE WEST
Born Edward Wilson and better known by his stage name Obbie West, this spoken word poet is notable for his participation in a TV1 reality series titled Verses and Flow.
He began his career as a performance poet by participating in the 2011 Killeen Poetry Slam in Texas.
He developed a prominent social media presence on both Twitter and Instagram and also created a YouTube channel that showcased his poetry.
He was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and he later settled in Lawton, Oklahoma. He married Angel Wilson and had a daughter named Brooklyn.
He and Nicole Blackman both had successful careers as spoken word poets.
