She first realized she was losing her hair at 17. At 21 she got her first wig. She studied communications at Ulster University.
She began sharing her journey online because she felt there was not enough conversation about alopecia, especially in her small hometown.
Her mother also shares content online under the username walkingupdates.
She was named in the BBC 100 Women of 2024 alongside others like Sunita Williams and Sharon Stone .
