ABOUT ONAT KUTLAR
A Twentieth-century Turkish poet, short story writer, and screenwriter, he is known for such poetry collections as Divan for a Pera Love and Forgotten City. His screenplays include Hazal and Yusuf ile Kenan.
He was educated in Paris, where he studied philosophy, and in Istanbul, where he studied law.
He was killed in a 1995 terrorist attack in Istanbul.
He was born into a family of Turkish judges and governors.
His surrealistic short stories contain elements of magical realism, as do the works of Latin American author Jorge Borges .
