Defender and midfielder who made his professional debut in 2002 for Derby County, later playing for Rotherham United from 2006-2010 and 2013-2014.

He played youth soccer at Derby County.

In 2001, he played for England's under-16 national team.

He grew up in Birmingham, England.

He played alongside midfielder Ben Pringle on Rotherham United in 2013-2014.
