ABOUT PATRICIA CAREY
Former mezzo-soprano with the New York City Opera and a freelance vocal coach who is most well known for being the mother of Mariah Carey . In 1977 she recorded the album "To Start Again". She died on the same day that her daughter Alison died.
She attended the Julliard School in New York City.
On Mariah Carey 's 2010 Christmas album, she and her mother collaborated on the song "O Come All Ye Faithful".
She and her husband Alfred Carey were subject to racism and violence due to their mixed-race marriage, which caused them to get divorced in 1973.
