Poet and essayist who gained a major following on Twitter for her ironic "sexts," which have earned her 100,000 followers to date. She is the author of poetry collections like Balloon Pop Outlaw Black (2012) as well as the acclaimed memoir Priestdaddy (2017).
She was raised in St. Louis, Missouri and Cincinnati, Ohio.
Her memoir Priestdaddy earned her the 2018 Thurber Prize for American Humor and was a finalist for the Kirkus Prize.
She married Jason Kendall. She has four siblings.
