ABOUT PAUL ZINDEL
Playwright who wrote The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds, which received the Pulitzer Prize in 1971. Also a novelist, he published works such as I Never Loved Your Mind (1970) and My Darling, My Hamburger (1969).
He initially studied to become a chemist at Wagner College. Before becoming a writer, he worked at a chemical company and taught high school science.
He wrote The Pigman, which is taught at many public schools.
He had two children with his wife, Bonnie Hildebrand, whom he married in 1973.
He wrote the screenplay for Up the Sandbox starring Barbra Streisand .
