ABOUT PAULINE COLLINS
English thespian who earned a 1990 Oscar nomination for her leading role in Shirley Valentine. From 1971 to 1975, she also appeared in the series Upstairs, Downstairs.
She made her London West End debut in a 1965 production of Passion Flower Hotel.
She had recurring television roles on Mount Pleasant, Bleak House, and The Ambassador.
She married John Alderton in 1969. The couple had four children.
She and Maggie Smith both appeared in a 2012 comedy Quartet.
