ABOUT PERSIS KHAMBATTA
Most famous for playing Lieutenant Ilia in the 1979 Star Trek film, Khambatta is also known for her role in the 1967 Bollywood feature Bambai Raat Ki Bahon Mein.
During her early teens, she participated in an advertising campaign for Rexona soap products. She went on to win the 1965 Femina Miss India beauty pageant title.
She made guest appearances on the American television shows MacGyver and Mike Hammer.
She died in her late forties of a heart attack and was survived by a brother named Dinish and by her mother, Jeroo.
She co-starred with Barry Bostwick in the 1982 film Megaforce.
