Born Davin Tong, he gained popularity as a vlogger by posting videos portraying Asian stereotypes and other politically incorrect content.

He and director Travis Grant created a short film titled Paper Trail, which was about a neighbor who gets caught stealing newspapers.

His fanbase has become known as Chao Nation. His account was suspended for 14 days after he posted a video mocking African-Americans.

He was raised in New Brunswick, Canada, by his Chinese immigrant parents.

He parodied the Justin Bieber songs "As Long as You Love Me" and "Boyfriend."
