ABOUT PETER ERDO

Hungarian Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church who was appointed as the Archbishop of Esztergom-Budapest in 2002.

He received doctorates in theology and canon law from the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome.

He was a cardinal elector in the 2005 papal conclave that selected Pope Benedict XVI .

He is the oldest of six siblings.

He was elevated to the cardinalate by Pope John Paul II in 2003.
